Lishan's ROM video is finally done, all thanks to Zhenwei! He spent the whole Friday afternoon capturing the shots and editing, while the grateful-but-not-very-useful me sat beside him and used my eye-power. I felt real bad, cos' I had stubbornly wanted to borrow his video cam, despite his cautions about me having neither the skills nor time to come out with something good. And I had to leave the tape alone for more than 2 months because of the Shanghai trip. If I were to do the editing, it would probably take a week or two. But he offered his help, and boy, was he fast! I really want to say a big, grateful "THANK YOU!" Such a great buddy! *grin*
(Hey ZW, I'm publicizing your niceness! so, erm...since I owe you a treat, do you think this publicity can discharge my liability?? *wink*)
I had a fun weekend! Slept over at Lishan's place on Friday night. Yeah yeah, I've always enjoyed going to her place. She's a good hostess, and she's my first friend to have a place of her own. Plus, she has Popeye! Popeye's her "son", a real cute white puppy which has grown alot bigger since the last time I saw him. Haha, he's irritating as ever, made mummy terribly angry when he chewed her shoes and messed up the whole flat with tissue shreds. The playful little dog earned himself a few smacks on the behind, but I guess having guests in the house got him so excited, he didn't mind at all. He kept jumping around and licking us, and throughout the night, he kept a vigilant wake outside the room we were (supposed to be) sleeping in. Absolutely adorable!
We spent almost the whole night whining about life... girls in depression do have alot to say when the mood's right, and anyway, we are really old friends! I knew Irene and Xiuyan in primary 1, Jianyin in pri 3 and Lishan in pri 4. We have been sticking together as a clique since we were eleven. We know each other's home phone numbers by heart, and we can recall embarrassing incidences of each other's childhood. Our friendships' like an old childhood blanket - warm and familiar, with a distinct smell no one else really appreciates. *hehe* Although we chose to follow very different paths (yes, I'm the nerd), I am glad we stuck it out together. To me, these girls are more like sisters than friends... we sometimes take each other for granted, and we often lose track of who's doing what. I don't know if I'll lose them a few years down, but I know I'll always be grateful for their early presence in my life.
Friends are gifts from heaven, don't you think? Whoever you are, if you are reading this, you must be my friend. I want to thank you for being my friend.
