Hmm, I just bought 2 webcams, and I can't seem to get them to work now. And my computer died on me the whole afternoon. I wonder what's wrong... urgh! Should I buy Chen Qi Zhen's 'Groupies' and Tao Zhe's 'Black Orange' now? I went CD browsing yesterday, and I almost couldn't resist blonking 40 bucks on the 2 albums since I've been waiting forever to get my hands on them. But, rationally speaking, I know I shouldn't. I've gotta save whatever monies I can, so that I can survive my first month in Shanghai, before I get my first paycheck. And I do need ALOT of money, considering the fact that I have to pay a month's deposit and 3 months' rent in advance before I move in my apartment. Financial considerations aside, I'm also almost certain that in one or two months' time, the albums will have 'extras' bundled with them. It would probably be extra music video vcds, or 'bonus tracks' of new or old songs. Then, I'll feel really 'dui' for buying the albums early. I think it's pretty ironic, because the people who grab albums early are usually loyal fans, and yet, these fans don't get the 'extras' which are later offered to entice more people to buy. I can remember the few albums I regretted buying early because they later appeared in the stores bundled with alot of extras. But of course, those were the pre-MP3 days. Audiogalaxy came along when I was in Yr 2, and I didn't have to feel such anguish anymore. But I think my real reason for buying CDs is, I feel good I am doing something right. Deep down inside, we all know it's wrong to download MP3s... it's like stealing things, 'cept you don't get prosecuted. And you can pretend that it is not-too-wrong because everyone else is doing it, and friends even jeer at you when you say you want to buy CDs. I guess, like the many choices we make, it's between an individual and his conscience. Hmm, so... ok, I'll go get the CDs just before I leave for Shanghai. Hopefully, they are bundled with goodies already.
